C.H.I.L.D. - Citizens Helping Improve Legislative Developments
C.H.I.L.D. was founded on March 25, 2010. The 4 founders of C.H.I.L.D were friends bonded by the common goal of making a difference in Pennsylvania in Zachary's memory.
The idea of C.H.I.L.D was to have a place where we could raise awareness for child abuse and build support for changing a law in Pennsylvania. We worked together and we did it! In October of 2012 a law was passed that increased sentences for people who commit Third Degree Murder of a child. You can visit C.H.I.L.D on Facebook and view our many notes, accomplishments and celebrations.
The month of April is Child Abuse Awareness Month. We initiated many different projects to help spread awareness in our community and with our followers on C.H.I.L.D. Here's a short video we made with eye opening statistics. With just the simple gesture of decorating this tree with blue ribbons, we were able to spread awareness. That's what it's all about. Making a difference one person at a time.
